A drop back into the Wild West. A pleasant read with some suspense. I enjoyed how the story ran on two parallel lines, a little more than a hundred years between them, connected by a church and in there a staircase, a miracle in itself.
The descriptions of both places have sparked my imagination, fueled by my experiences in real life (the London riots in my case) and reminding me of western movies as well.
The conversations were fluid, the characters lively, easy to empathize with. I especially enjoyed the illustrations.
After finishing the last lines, I sat with it for a bit, thinking that there could be a second book coming later, which could tell more about the treasure, the carpenter, the nuns and the cow girl, who's clearly got to do with shaping the life of the town and its visitors. Perhaps even about the adventures of James and Christoper, who were now on the right side of law.
Overall a very pleasant read, bringing smiles to my face.
